Studio Advision created an ingenious label for G.Low, a low-alcohol wine, using thermochromic ink, which changes colour depending on the temperature of the bottle. Transparent at room temperature, when the wine reaches its ideal serving condition, the ink activates and reveals a black graphic element that transforms the design. The label is printed on Re-Play Tintoretto Gesso which features ‘a felt-marked surface and an elegant, natural look,’ says art director Matteo Zantedeschi. The paper is perfectly suited to the wine industry, he adds, as it combines ‘refined aesthetics with genuine environmental responsibility’. The Re-Play range (seePulp 26) reduces environmental impact by upcycling glassine into pulp to produce new paper. Zantedeschi says that ‘each G.Low label also becomes a tangible symbol of the circular economy and environmental respect, in line with the philosophy of the wine it represents: light, contemporary and responsible’.
