Designed by Estiu, the Hedonistic Guide Yearbook celebrates the best of Valencian eateries
Graphic designPrintingPublishing

Estiu is a visual communication studio with bases in Berlin and Valencia and run by founders Pau Domingo and Diego Obiol. The studio’s work spans identity, digital and editorial design, and its latest design for the 2023 edition of the Hedonist Guide Yearbook displays the duo’s talents in print.

The yearbook compiles the 99 best restaurants, bars and eateries in Valencia and examines what makes them special, alongside features on various aspects of the area’s gastronomic offerings.

Each annual publication revolves around a single concept, which for 2023 is ‘courage’, evident in the ambition and bravery of Valencia’s restaurateurs, chefs, cooks, waiters, managers and sommeliers. Illustrations by Coco Dávez (including the cover) and photography by Marga Ferrer interpret this theme.

Edited by Guía Hedonista and art directed by Paula Pons, the publication is coordinated by the journalist Olga Briasco, with Mario Fernández supplying portraits. Estiu describes the typefaces – Bulevar by Atipo, Graveur by Juanjo López and BW Fusiona by Branding With Type – as ‘co-protagonists’ of the publication, which was printed on Arena Extra White paper in the Gràfiques Vimar workshops.

The Hedonistic Guide Yearbook 2023 is available from shop.guiahedonista.com.
